The Brawa 51245 H0 Covered Goods Wagon G is an authentic and detailed model that represents the characteristic goods wagon of the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) from Era II. The type G, based on the specifications of the German State Railway Wagon Association (DWV) from 1909, shaped rail freight traffic for decades. From 1911 onwards, several series of the interlocking wagons were built and were used extensively by the state railroads and later by the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG). By 1934 alone, more than 121,770 units had been built for the DRG, and over 160,000 in total if the wagons for foreign and private railroads are included.
The wagon was designed for the transportation of general cargo and light loads and was versatile thanks to its robust construction. With a wheelbase of 4.5 m and a load capacity of 15 tons, the wagon became the backbone of freight transport in the interwar period.

Era II (1920-1950) covers the period between the founding of the DRG and the end of the Second World War. During this phase, the DRG modernized its rolling stock and relied on tried-and-tested designs such as the DRG type G train coaches. These coaches were used throughout the country and made a significant contribution to the development of transport logistics on the DRG rail network.
