The Brawa 51252 H0 Covered freight car Z offers an authentic reproduction of the freight traffic of the Czechoslovak State Railroad (CSD) in Era III. With its detailed design and high-quality printing, this model is an impressive addition to historic freight trains.
The Z boxcar is based on the A2 model sheet of the German State Railroad Car Association (DWV). From 1911, these wagons were built in large series for the state railroads and later also for the Reichsbahn. After the Second World War, many of these wagons were distributed throughout Europe, including at the CSD in what was then Czechoslovakia.
The CSD continued to use many of the wagons it had taken over and adapted them to its own standards. The robust design, combined with technical improvements such as the introduction of air brakes, made these wagons an important component of the CSD's freight transport network. They transported agricultural products, raw materials and consumer goods and were used on both domestic and international routes.

Era III (1945-1970) was a time of reconstruction and consolidation for the CSD. Many pre-war freight wagons continued to be used and modernized in order to meet the increasing demands of transport. The Z covered freight wagon was an indispensable part of the freight trains of the time and contributed to the economic development of the region.
