The "Paderborner Bier" beer wagon from Era III is a unique model that impressively recreates the historic freight transport of the German State Railroad (DR) in the British-US zone. With its characteristic design and true-to-original lettering, this wagon brings the flair of the post-war period to any H0 model railway layout.
Beer was one of the first goods to be transported by rail. Many breweries had special wagons with insulation built in order to deliver their sensitive product safely and in the best possible quality to remote destinations. These wagons were based on the design of normal freight wagons, but offered optimum conditions for the transportation of beer thanks to their individual adaptation.
The prototype of the Brawa model is equipped with vertically mounted wooden paneling that covers the box frame and gives the car body a greater width. Between 1910 and 1970, these wagons were used in different variants for numerous German breweries and played a decisive role in shaping rail freight transportation.
The model of the "Paderborn Beer" wagon impresses with its precise reproduction of the vertical board cladding and the careful printing. The openwork car body supports, fine engravings and the faithful reproduction of the frame structure make the car a highlight on any model railroad track. The specially attached signal brackets and axle bearing covers ensure an authentic appearance.
The "Paderborner Bier" beer wagon combines nostalgic charm with technical precision, making it an indispensable collector's item. It is perfect for depicting historic freight trains and brings the eventful history of German brewing to life on your layout.
