Description

Brawa 51327 H0 Dust Container Car Ucs 908, DB, Era IV – Compact Special-Purpose Car for Fine Bulk Materials

Are you looking for a distinctive freight car for transporting fine bulk materials from the 1970s and 1980s? The Brawa 51327 Ucs 908 brings an important special-purpose vehicle from the Deutsche Bundesbahn to your H0 layout—with high recognition value, technical precision, and extensive versatility.

Finely detailed model for short trains with character

The car has a length over buffers of just 98 mm and is equipped with NEM-compliant close-coupling kinematics. The unobstructed view between the vertical tanks, separately attached tank lids and valves, running boards, axle brake linkage, and a prototypical brake system underscore the high level of detail. The brake shoes at wheel level also set visual standards. Road number: 21 80 910 5 777-6.

The Prototype – The DB’s First Successful Bulk Car

The Ucs 908 traces its origins to the Kds 54, which was manufactured in large numbers for the DB starting in 1953. The design, featuring two vertical hoppers and a sophisticated frame concept, proved its worth in service—resulting in the production of over 1,200 units by 1965. In 1968, the class was redesignated as Ucs 908. For decades, these cars transported a wide variety of fine-grained goods such as cement, gypsum, stone meal, salt, and aluminum hydroxide.

Versatile for use in silo transport during Era IV

These cars were usually assigned to a specific station and operated on fixed routes—ideal for transport between industrial facilities, cement plants, or loading points. As models, they can be combined perfectly with other silo cars, covered freight cars, or chemical tank cars.

A Perfect Addition to Your DB Freight Trains

Compatible with locomotives such as the BR 260, BR 290, or electric locomotives of the 140/150 series. Thanks to its short length and compact design, the car is ideal for transfer trains, plant-to-plant traffic, or local freight trains—a real advantage, especially on smaller layouts.

A specialist in bulk cargo transport—authentic and compact

With the Brawa 51327, you’ll add a functional, high-precision Era IV freight car to your layout—a must-have for realistic operation during the modern Bundesbahn era.
