Then the Brawa 58266 H0 Bm 235 Express Train Car “DB 51 80 22-90 300-0” is exactly the right model for you. With its true-to-scale design, detailed features, and technical authenticity, this 200 km/h-capable car brings the InterCity flair of the late 1970s and 1980s to your model railroad—a must-have for all Era IV enthusiasts.
The Bm 235 is built in H0 scale (1:87) and is designed for operation on a 2-wire direct current (DC) system. The length over buffers is 303 mm. The model features a NEM coupler socket with close-coupling kinematics, a pre-wired interior lighting system, and a solderable interface. It does not include digital control or sound functionality. The road number is: 51 80 22-90 300-0.
The car impresses with many prototypical features: scale-accurate windows, Type 093 wheel sets with disc brakes, a separately mounted alternator on the bogie, as well as additional steps and handrails. The roof is designed to look butt-welded. The spring-loaded rubber bead transitions ensure a realistic appearance when coupled in a train set. The interior is fully reproduced in a style true to the era—perfect for realistic station scenes or operation in a train set.
With the InterCity program “Every Hour, Every Class,” DB required second-class passenger cars capable of a maximum speed of 200 km/h starting in 1979. Instead of developing new models, the company drew on the existing Bm 234 design and upgraded it technically: disc and magnetic track brakes, Type 093 wheel sets, and reinforced suspension systems made the cars suitable for IC service. A total of 721 Bm 235 cars were put into service in just three years. The cars remained in service on InterCity and later InterRegio routes well into the 2000s; many were painted in color schemes typical of the era, such as ocean blue and beige, traffic red, or even the ICE design.
Included in the package is the Brawa 58266 Bm 235 Express Train Car with full decals, realistically designed interior, a pre-installed lighting system, and all attachment parts. The model is also compatible with the electric coupler from the BRAWA lineup.
Ideal for model railroaders who want to recreate authentic InterCity or InterRegio trains from Epochs IV and V. The Bm 235 is a must-have for fans of modern Bundesbahn cars and pairs perfectly with locomotives such as the BR 103 or BR 120.
Add the Brawa 58266 H0 Bm 235 “DB 51 80 22-90 300-0” to your layout—a historic car built with technical precision. Only while supplies last!
