The Brawa 58276 H0 Bm 235 Express Train Car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn is the perfect addition for all model railroading enthusiasts who value high fidelity to the prototype and modern technology. With factory-installed LED interior lighting, exquisite detailing, and an accurate Era V appearance, this car brings the authentic InterCity flair of the 1980s and 1990s to your H0 layout.
The model is designed for H0 gauge (1:87) and has a length over buffers of 303 mm. Designed for the 2-wire direct current (DC) system, the car is equipped with LED interior lighting that is factory-installed. The interface is solderable; digitalization is not provided. Thanks to close-coupling kinematics and a NEM coupler socket, the model can be easily integrated into existing train sets.
The express train car impresses with a scale-accurate window layout as well as an period-correct interior. Separately attached steps and handrails, a separately mounted generator on the bogie, and the spring-loaded rubber beads at the car joints underscore the attention to detail. Even the butt-welded roof has been faithfully reproduced and lends the model additional depth.
The pre-installed LED interior lighting creates an atmospheric display on the layout—especially during twilight or nighttime operation. The car features disc-braked wheel sets of type 093, which ensure a prototypical appearance and reliable running. Compatibility with the electric coupler from the BRAWA lineup offers additional application possibilities for discerning model railroader.
The car is based on the Bm 235 type, which emerged from the Bm 234 type as part of the Deutsche Bundesbahn’s InterCity ’79 program. With certification for 200 km/h and new Type 093 wheel sets, the car was ideally suited for high-quality long-distance service. Between 1979 and the early 2000s, the Bm 235 cars were used on InterCity and InterRegio routes. The cars’ color schemes were updated several times—culminating in a repaint in the modern ICE design.
Thanks to its DC configuration and pre-installed LED lighting, this car is ideal for use on H0 model railroads. The combination of realistic appearance, technical features, and easy integration into existing systems makes this model a highlight for anyone who wants to recreate Deutsche Bundesbahn train sets from Era V.
