The Brawa 58278 H0 Deutsche Bahn AG Bm 235.0 Express Train Car brings the modern InterCity atmosphere to your model railroad layout. In its Era VI version, this car features current paint schemes, a scale-accurate design, and numerous technical details—ideal for anyone who wants to realistically recreate modern passenger rail service.
Manufactured for H0 gauge (1:87), the car measures 303 mm over buffers and is designed for operation with 2-wire direct current (DC). The interior lighting is pre-wired and can be retrofitted with appropriate LED bulbs. Coupling is via a NEM-compliant coupling shaft with close-coupling kinematics for reliable and prototypical car transitions.
With its scale-accurate window arrangement and period-correct interior, this car meets all requirements for a realistic appearance. Separately attached steps and handrails, a separately mounted generator on the bogie, and the spring-loaded rubber beads at the transition provide additional depth of detail. The butt-welded roof rounds out the authentic look.
The car is equipped with disc-braked wheel sets of type 093, which not only look impressive but also ensure smooth running on the layout. Compatibility with the electric coupler from the BRAWA lineup opens up additional usage possibilities, especially for digitized train sets.
The Bm 235 is based on Type Bm 234 cars and was modified for higher speeds and greater comfort as part of the Deutsche Bundesbahn’s InterCity ’79 program. After several decades of service, many cars were repainted and ran, among other things, in the well-known light gray and traffic red color scheme or even in the ICE design. Even in Era VI, individual cars remained in service with DB AG—modernized, but retaining the typical IC comfort of days gone by.
Thanks to its DC configuration and preparation for interior lighting, the car integrates perfectly into modern model railroad layouts. Whether as a single unit or as part of a complete IC set: The Bm 235.0 cuts a fine figure in any formation. Perfect for anyone who specializes in Era VI or wants to depict modern scenarios featuring historically evolved rolling stock.
