Brawa 58299 H0 Luggage Car Dües 943, DB, Era IV Product Details

Description

Are you looking for a classic DB baggage car from Era IV for your layout?

The Brawa 58299 H0 Düe941 baggage car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) combines a proven pre-war design with the typical modifications of the 1970s. Featuring detailed construction, prototypical mechanics, and provision for interior lighting, this car fits perfectly into Era IV D-trains.

Model Information & Technical Data

The model is manufactured in 1:87 scale for H0 gauge and has a length over buffers of 249.70 mm. Designed for the 2-wire direct current (DC) system, the car is not digitally equipped but is prepared for interior lighting. Coupling is via a NEM-compliant coupling shaft with close-coupling kinematics for realistic car spacing and reliable operation.

Technically and visually accurate to the prototype

With side walls specific to the variant and roof design, the model realistically depicts the late years of service of the former Pw4ü cars. Metal axle supports, prototype-accurate axle bearing caps, brake shoes at wheel level, multi-part brake system, and the separately attached axle brake linkage ensure the highest level of detail. The fully replicated car floor as well as the fine printing and paint finish also contribute to the authentic overall impression.

Historical Background: The Path to the Düe941

The Düe941 design traces its origins to the Pw4ü baggage cars built starting in 1935. Over time, many of these vehicles were modified by the Deutsche Bundesbahn to meet modern requirements. The most noticeable modification was the removal of the roof cab. In addition, windows were added to the right side of the car to allow the train conductor to continue seeing behind the train. The original dog compartments were also removed. During Era IV, these cars were primarily used as baggage cars on DB D-trains during their final years of service before being taken out of service in the mid-1980s.

Ideal for 1970s D-train formations

With its true-to-original design and technical features, this baggage car is a must-have for all model railroader who wish to authentically recreate Era IV trains. Whether as part of a classic express train or in use with converted cars—the Brawa Düe941 impresses with its high quality and historical accuracy.
