The Brawa 58317 H0 Passenger Car Aüe 310 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn combines elegant design with technical sophistication. As a model of a classic Type 39 express train car, it features factory-installed LED interior lighting, a solderable interface, and a highly detailed design—ideal for Märklin-compatible Era III model railroads.
Manufactured in 1:87 scale for H0 gauge, the model measures 244 mm over the buffers. Designed for the 3-wire AC system, the car features built-in LED interior lighting and a solderable interface. The close-coupling mechanism with NEM shaft ensures prototypical operation in a train set.
Technical highlights include metal axle holders, prototypical axle bearing caps, brake shoes at wheel level, separately attached axle brake linkage, and a multi-part brake system. The variant-specific interior layout and the complete reproduction of the vehicle floor underscore the high quality of the model.
The express train cars with characteristic skirts, built starting in 1939, were designed to reduce air resistance and improve comfort in high-speed service. After World War II, the Deutsche Bundesbahn put many of these cars back into service for the newly emerging F-train network. With the advent of the m-cars in the mid-1950s, the skirted cars were increasingly used on regular D-trains until they were finally taken out of service in the 1970s.
This car fits perfectly into high-quality express train formations from the 1950s to the 1970s on Märklin-compatible layouts. The standard LED lighting creates an atmospheric ambiance—whether in night operation or in a display case. Perfect for combining with other Class 39 cars.
