The Brawa 58320 H0 passenger car ABüe 336 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn is a highly detailed model of a Type 39 skirted car. With factory-installed LED interior lighting, a solderable interface, and authentic detailing, it is the perfect addition to classic train formations on Märklin-compatible layouts from the 1950s to the 1970s.
The model is manufactured in 1:87 scale for H0 gauge and measures 244 mm over the buffers. It is based on the 3-wire AC system, is not digitally controlled, but features a solderable interface and built-in LED interior lighting. With a NEM coupler housing and close-coupling mechanism, the car can be integrated into train sets in a prototypical manner.
The ABüe 336 features an interior layout true to the variant, metal axle holders, prototypical axle bearing caps, brake shoes at wheel level, separately attached axle brake linkage, and a multi-part brake system. The fully reproduced vehicle floor and the fine printing make the model a visual highlight even when viewed up close.
When they were introduced, the Class 39 skirted cars were considered the epitome of modern express train service. After World War II, many cars remained in West Germany and were extensively refurbished by the DB for the new F-train network. With the spread of the m-cars, they were increasingly used on D-trains and remained in service until the mid-1970s—some even in reserve fleets for military purposes.
This illuminated skirted car is ideal for all model railroading enthusiasts who wish to realistically recreate classic long-distance trains of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. Whether as part of an F-train or in D-train formations—the ABüe 336 combines technical quality with historical authenticity.
