With the Brawa 64545 N set of 3 double-decker coaches "Metronom", you get a prototypically designed, fully illuminated coach set for contemporary regional transportation. The carriages impress with their true-to-scale realization on a scale of 1:160, LED interior lighting, illuminated train destination displays and detailed design inside and out - a highlight for every modern N layout.

Model information & technical data

The set consists of three cars of the RE 3 Hamburg Hbf series with the road numbers: 50 80 86-73 501-8 / 50 80 96-73 507-3 / 50 80 96-73 505-7. The length over buffers (LüP) of the set is 499 mm in total. The cars are designed for operation with 2-wire direct current (DC) and are not digitized, but can be upgraded with suitable decoders (Model No. Center car: 0019695.01 / Control car: 0019695.02).

Detailing & Lighting

The cars have complete interior lighting with warm white LEDs and white/red light changes in the direction of travel. Train destination displays and high beams can be switched separately in digital operation. The driver's cab and interior fittings are completely reproduced. Window frames are printed and accurately fitted, the front is three-dimensional and true to the original. The cars are equipped with close coupling kinematics in accordance with NEM. Minimum radius: 192 mm.

Prototype: TWINDEXX Vario® in Metronom design

The cars shown here are based on the TWINDEXX Vario® platform from Bombardier, which is used in regional and long-distance service by many railroad companies. In the Metronom design, these coaches run on the RE 3 between Hamburg main station and Uelzen, among others. The combination of modern double-decker coaches and TRAXX locomotives brings comfort and capacity to regional services in northern Germany.
