The Brawa 64554 N double-deck middle car Dbdpza in the Metronom version is a modern, precisely scaled model designed for use in regional rail service. With LED interior lighting and a digitally controllable destination display (after decoder retrofit), this car impresses both visually and technically on any Era VI layout.

Model Information & Technical Specifications

The model is manufactured in 1:160 scale for N gauge and measures 165 mm over the buffers. It is designed for operation with 2-wire direct current (DC). The LED interior lighting is already integrated; the destination display can be activated in digital mode. This requires a function decoder (Order No. 0019695.01) — operation without a decoder in digital mode is not permitted.

Appearance, Technology & Detail

The car features scale-accurate detailing, finely engraved details, printed window frames, and precisely fitted windows. The body is made of high-quality plastic, complemented by a metal base plate for optimal running characteristics. The car is equipped with a NEM-compliant close-coupling mechanism and is suitable for a minimum curve radius of 192 mm.

Prototype: Metronom in the TWINDEXX Vario® design

The model is based on Bombardier’s TWINDEXX-Vario® concept, which is also used for the Metronom on the RE 3 line to Hamburg Central Station. These double-decker cars are designed for speeds up to 160 km/h and offer the highest level of comfort in regional rail service. The version shown here bears the road number 50 80 96-73 510-7.
