The Brawa 65094 N Passenger Car Bghw of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) is a precisely crafted model of the legendary Halberstadt car fleet. With detailed “Görlitz V” bogies, scale-accurate windows and multi-colored interior, this car realistically captures local and long-distance rail service from the GDR era in 1:160 scale.
The car is designed for N gauge (1:160 scale) and measures 116.90 mm over buffers. It is designed for 2-wire direct current (DC) operation and is not digitally compatible. The interior lighting is pre-wired and can be retrofitted as an option. The NEM-compliant close-coupling mechanism enables prototypical car spacing during operation.
The model features printed window frames, precisely fitted windows, and a multi-colored interior. The separately attached rubber bead at the car transition, as well as the fine reproduction of the Görlitz V bogies, underscore the high-quality construction of this car. Ideal for train formations in the style of the 1970s and 1980s.
Between 1963 and 1977, the Halberstadt Rolling Stock Works (Raw) manufactured approximately 3,030 Bghwe-type cars. These vehicles shaped the landscape of DR passenger service well into the 1990s. The road number 57 50 28-13 171-3 represents a typical example from its service period in Era IV. These cars were used in both long-distance and commuter service and regularly reached cities in the Federal Republic such as Hamburg and Nuremberg.
The Bghw can be ideally combined with other Halberstadt cars, DR dining cars (WRge), and locomotives such as the BR 110, 118, or 132. A classic on any N-scale layout focused on Era IV.
