Brawa 70123 H0 steam locomotive 01.10, DB, Ep. III, AC-Sound Product Details

Description

Are you looking for a digitized express steam locomotive with sound for your AC layout?

The Brawa 70123 H0 steam locomotive BR 01.10 of the German Federal Railroad is a high-quality model of the famous 01 1066 in its 1964 condition. With a factory-installed sound decoder, LED lighting, oil firing and intricate details, it is a real highlight for Era III layouts with Märklin compatibility (AC).

Model information & technical data

The locomotive is designed in 1:87 scale for H0 gauge and measures 277.50 mm over buffers. It is operated using the 3-wire alternating current system (AC) and is digitized at the factory including sound. A PluX22 interface is available. The locomotive is equipped with LED lighting, including white light change and interior lighting.

Drive & running characteristics

The drive is in the tender for optimum traction. A close coupler is used to connect the locomotive to the tender, and there is an NEM coupler pocket at the end of the tender that is guided by a link. The single axle bearing made of metal and the true-to-scale wheelbase guarantee smooth running - recommended from a minimum radius of R 420 mm.

Appearance & attention to detail

The locomotive impresses with an openwork die-cast zinc frame, spoked wheels and filigree metal driving and coupling rods. The internal engine is also reproduced in detail. With edge plates on the driver's cab, high chimney with attachment, new cylinders and satin turntables, the model presents itself in the typical condition of the 01.10 in the 1960s.

Prototype history: 01 1066 - The last express train legend

The 01.10 class was a further development of the BR 01 standard locomotive and was originally built with streamlining. After the war, the DB modernized many machines - including the 01 1066 with oil firing and roller bearings. As part of the Osnabrück depot, it was active on the roller track and in Emsland until the end. Today it is preserved as a museum locomotive.

For discerning model railroaders with a focus on steam locomotive classics

This BR 01.10 not only offers an impressive sound image thanks to digital sound, but also the highest technical precision and visual finesse - a must for Era III fans with an AC system.
