Brawa 70128 H0 steam locomotive 01.10, DB, Ep. III Product Details

Description

Are you looking for a classic DB express train steam locomotive with coal firing for your Era III layout?

The Brawa 70128 H0 steam locomotive BR 01.10 of the German Federal Railroad represents the locomotive 01 1098 in the condition from 1962 - typical for use on the Main-Weser Railway. With coal firing, old-style cylinders, high one-piece chimney and LED lighting, this model offers high prototypical fidelity and technical quality for DC systems.

Model information & technical data

The model is designed for H0 gauge (scale 1:87) and measures 277.50 mm over buffers. It is intended for the 2-wire direct current system (DC) and is not digitized, but has a PluX22 interface for easy retrofitting of decoders and/or sound. The LED lighting includes a white light change and interior lighting.

Running gear & technology

The drive is located in the tender, which ensures optimum running characteristics. A close coupler between the locomotive and tender as well as a standardized shaft guided by a scenery guide make realistic connections possible. The locomotive is equipped with single axle bearings made of metal and a true-to-scale wheelbase. Recommended minimum radius: from R 420 mm.

Appearance & detailing

The locomotive has an openwork die-cast zinc frame, spoked wheels, filigree metal driving and coupling rods and a detailed reproduction of the internal drive unit. Further highlights include roller bearings, six sandboxes and the typical standing boiler rear wall. The body is made of impact-resistant plastic with a high-quality paint finish.

Prototype: The 01 1098 - steam power with coal in the style of the 60s

As part of the famous 01.10 class, the 01 1098 was stationed at the Kassel depot in 1962. In contrast to the oil-fired locomotives, it retained its high one-piece chimney and old cylinders. It represents the typical condition of the coal-fired 01.10s on the north-south line in the early 1960s.

Ideal for classic express train operation scenarios of the German Federal Railroad

The 01 1098 is perfect for model railroaders who rely on historical accuracy, high-quality technology and a steam locomotive with character. With the option of digitalization, it is also future-proof for use on your H0 layout.
