The Brawa 70147 S2/6 3201 steam loc omotive is a faithful reproduction of the famous express train locomotive that set new standards in terms of speed and elegance when it was put into service in 1906. With its elegant gray paint scheme, the cladding made of "Russian shiny sheet metal" and its outstanding technical performance, the S2/6 remains an icon of railroad history to this day.
The S2/6 was built in 1906 by the Maffei locomotive factory for the Royal Bavarian State Railways and immediately exceeded all expectations. Particularly impressive was its record-breaking run in July 1907, when it reached a top speed of 154.4 km/h between Munich and Augsburg - a milestone on the European mainland. With its balanced four-cylinder engine and stable steam supply, the locomotive was perfectly suited for both fast connections and representative service on the Bavarian railway.
