Description

Are you looking for a powerful DB freight locomotive with sound and an AC system for your Era III layout?

With the Brawa 70155 H0 steam locomotive BR 44, you can bring the famous 44 606 to your layout - one of the few oil locomotives of the German Federal Railroad with a circulating apron. This model impresses with AC-compatible digital sound, LED lighting, movable internal engine and PluX22 interface - ideal for operation on Märklin-compatible layouts.

Technical details & model information

The model is produced on a scale of 1:87 for the H0 gauge and measures 261 mm over buffers. It is digitized at the factory and has a sound function. The locomotive runs on the 3-wire alternating current system (AC) and has a PluX22 interface for retrofitting functions such as a smoke generator. The LED lighting provides a realistic change of light in white as well as interior lighting.

Drive & mechanics

The locomotive is driven in the tender, supported by individual metal axle bearings and a true-to-scale wheelbase for perfect running characteristics. The locomotive is equipped with a close coupler between the locomotive and tender as well as a standard guide shaft.Recommended minimum radius: from 360 mm.

Design & equipment

The class 44 is equipped with old-style cylinders, Wagner wind deflectors, a running apron and a 2'2' T34 oil tender. The boiler, driver's cab and tender are made of finely detailed plastic. The openwork ingot frame and the spoked wheels made of die-cast zinc guarantee an authentic appearance. The driving wheels and coupling rods are made of robust metal. Flickering fire, engine and cab lighting are prepared for the Digital EXTRA version.

Prototype history: 44 606 - Powerhouse of freight trains

The 44 606 was one of the few oil-fired locomotives with a circulating apron and was considered the best-known representative of this design. Stationed in the Bebra depot of the Kassel BD, it handled heavy freight trains on demanding routes. The class 44 was the backbone of freight transportation in Germany for decades - with 1989 units built, it was one of the most important series locomotives of its time.

Perfect for sound and technology fans with the Märklin system

With the Brawa BR 44 you can experience an authentic steam atmosphere with digital technology. Powerful in operation, impressive in appearance - a highlight on every layout in the 3-wire range.
