Brawa 70162 H0 steam locomotive 44, DR, Ep. III, DC-Sound Product Details

Description

Are you looking for a heavy DR freight locomotive with true-to-original sound?

With the Brawa 70162 H0 steam locomotive BR 44, you can experience the powerful 44 1153 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in its 1967 operating condition. Equipped with a factory-integrated sound decoder, LED lighting and a movable internal engine with two crank axles, this model is a real highlight for Era III fans with a digital system.

Model information & technical data

Manufactured on a scale of 1:87 for H0 track gauge, the model measures 261 mm over buffers. It is designed for the 2-wire direct current system (DC) and has a factory-installed sound decoder. Thanks to the PluX22 interface, the installation of a smoke generator is prepared. The LED lighting offers realistic light changes in white as well as an illuminated driver's cab (Digital EXTRA).

Technology & driving characteristics

The locomotive is driven in the tender and, together with the single axle bearing in metal, provides excellent running characteristics. The locomotive is equipped with a standard guide shaft and close couplers between the locomotive and tender. Minimum radius: 360 mm.

Detailing & construction

The model is characterized by small high-lying wind deflectors, lowered pumps and a closed central apron. The Wagner wind deflectors, the 2'2' T30 tender and the movable internal engine give the model an authentic appearance. The boiler, driver's cab and tender are made of finely detailed plastic components, the spoked wheels and ingot frame are made of die-cast zinc, the driving and coupling rods are made of metal.

Prototype: 44 1153 - heavy freight train work on DR tracks

The locomotive 44 1153 was based in the Saalfeld depot of the Erfurt station. In 1967, it was active in heavy freight train service in eastern Germany with high wind deflectors and a closed center apron. The class 44 was a real backbone of DR operations and is one of the most important steam locomotive series in Germany.

For demanding model railroaders with a digital system

With the Brawa BR 44 DR with sound, you get powerful prototype character, fine mechanics and authentic sound on your layout - a perfect locomotive for heavy freight trains in Era III.
