Brawa 70170 H0 steam locomotive 150 X, SNCF, Ep. III, DC-Sound Product Details

Description

Are you looking for an internationally used heavy freight locomotive with digital sound?

With the Brawa 70170 H0 SNCF class 150 X steam locomotive, you can bring a French version of the proven German class 44 freight locomotive to your layout. The 150 X 24 in the condition from 1946 runs without wind deflectors, with an ÜK driver's cab and impresses with a factory-installed sound decoder, LED lighting and the finest mechanics.

Model information & technical details

The model is designed for H0 gauge (scale 1:87) and measures 261 mm over buffers. It is designed for 2-wire direct current (DC) and has a PluX22 interface as well as a built-in sound decoder. The LED lighting with white light change and optional flickering fire, engine and driver's cab lighting (Digital EXTRA) provides a realistic atmosphere on your layout.

Technology & running characteristics

The locomotive has propulsion in the tender, a movable internal power unit with two offset axles and single axle bearings in metal. The close coupler between the locomotive and tender as well as the NEM shaft guided by the coupler link guarantee excellent operation. Minimum radius: 360 mm.

Detailing & appearance

The locomotive is true to the original without wind deflectors, with a disk leading wheel set and 2'2' T32 tender. The openwork ingot frame, spoked wheels and metal driving/coupling rods provide a high-quality feel. The boiler, tender and driver's cab are made of finely detailed plastic parts.

Prototype history: The class 150 X - German power in French service

After the Second World War, numerous German locomotives remained with the French state railroad SNCF, including many of the class 44. These were classified as the 150 X. The 150 X 24 is shown in the model in a typical French post-war design - without wind deflectors, with overhead cab - and is a symbol of reconstruction and international use of technology in the railroad industry.

A must for international model railroaders

Whether French freight trains or transfer traffic in the border region - this sound locomotive is a real highlight for digital layouts with historical roots.
