With the Brawa 70188 TWINDEXX Vario® double-decker multiple unit, you can bring ultra-modern regional train technology on a scale of 1:87 to your model railroad layout. The three-car multiple unit from Deutsche Bahn AG (Era VI) is true to the original and has a sound decoder, LED lighting and digital ZugBUS function. Perfect for detailed scenarios on main and branch lines.

Model structure & technical data

The set includes 2 railcars and 1 center car, all in 2nd class design, with car numbers 91 80 0 445 004-8 / 50 80 26-81 483-2 / 91 80 0 445 008-9. The total length over Scharfenberg couplers is approx. 900 mm. The train is based on a 2-conductor direct current system and is digitally equipped with sound at the factory. Digital control is via the PluX22 interface.

Digital EXTRA with train BUS system

The highlight of the model: the ZugBUS function. In digital operation, the system automatically recognizes the leading and last car in the train set and thus allows the targeted control of functions as well as the recognition of braking sections. A function that opens up new possibilities for demanding digital railroaders.

Design & detailing

The multiple unit impresses with multi-part bogies, printed window frames, precisely fitting windows, the finest printing and a true-to-original three-dimensional front design. The interiors, including the driver's cabs, are completely reproduced. The body is made of high-quality plastic with metal floor plates. The couplers are designed as NEM shafts with KK kinematics.

They form the backbone of regional transport on routes with high passenger volumes, such as the RE 5 to Berlin Südkreuz. With their flexible single coach concept and comfortable interior, they are predestined for a wide range of applications - whether in classic push-pull operation or as an independent multiple unit.
