A prototype with history and character

The V320 001 is a unique piece of German locomotive history: developed privately by Henschel in 1956 as type DH 4000, it was to become the DB's most powerful and fastest diesel locomotive. Although it remained a one-off, its appearance later shaped the V160 family. After being used in express train service, later by private railroads and finally by Wiebe, it now stands as a technical monument in Wittenberge - a real piece of railroad legend.
