The Busch 1924 H0 double house EW 65 B-D kit represents the widespread, standardized single-family house EW 65 in its double house variant. Originally designed by VEB Kombinat Bau Meiningen, many of these buildings have been preserved in their original form to this day. With this model, you can recreate a piece of GDR architectural history in true detail on your H0 model railway layout.
The EW 65 detached house was a standardized residential building that was widely used in the GDR. Developed by VEB Kombinat Bau Meiningen, it was characterized by its functional architecture and the typical GDR colors. The semi-detached house variant made it possible to accommodate two families under one roof, which was a space-saving housing solution, especially in urban areas. Many of these buildings can still be found in East German housing estates today and bear witness to the living culture of the time.
The Busch company is known for its high-quality model building products, which impress with their attention to detail and quality. With the EW 65 B-D semi-detached house, Busch offers a model that makes it possible to authentically recreate historical GDR scenarios. The precise workmanship and attention to detail make this kit a valuable addition to any H0 model railway layout.
The kit has a base area of 229 x 111 mm and a height of 98 mm, suitable for the H0 scale (1:87). The plastered façade is in a typical GDR color. Doors, windows and window frames are made of real wood, which underlines the authenticity of the model. The staircase has a prototypical roof. The roof is equipped with two chimneys, roof hatches and gratings for the chimney sweep. Filigree plastic rain gutters and downpipes round off the appearance. The model is prepared for lighting with Busch LEDs 5998.
The EW 65 B-D semi-detached house is typical of Era IV (1965-1990) and is ideal for model railroad layouts depicting scenarios from the GDR or the Eastern Bloc. It can be placed in housing estates, as a semi-detached house in the countryside or in urban peripheral areas and contributes to the authenticity of the scenery depicted.
The plastered façade of the model is kept in a color typical of the GDR, reflecting the appearance of the time. The use of real wood for the doors and window frames gives the model a special quality and authenticity. The detailed design of the roof with two chimneys, roof outlets and gratings as well as the filigree plastic rain gutters and downpipes underline the high quality of the kit.
Busch attaches great importance to the quality of its products. The precise workmanship of the components and the use of high-quality materials guarantee a high degree of accuracy and durability of the model. The detailed instructions facilitate assembly and ensure a realistic appearance of the finished house.
The EW 65 B-D semi-detached house can be ideally combined with other products from the Busch range. Matching garden furniture, fences or vehicles from the GDR era complement the model and enable an even more realistic design of the scenery. In addition, the house can be atmospherically staged using the prepared lighting option with Busch LEDs 5998.
The Busch 1924 H0 double house EW 65 B-D kit is an excellent choice for model railroaders who want to enrich their layout with authentic details from the GDR era. The high level of detail, the use of real wood and the wide range of design options make this model a worthwhile investment. It blends harmoniously into various scenarios and contributes to the historical authenticity of your model railway layout.
