Hurray for the youth of the GDR! In the GDR, work projects limited in time at the state and local level were called "youth objects. These "youth collectives" or "youth brigades" sometimes produced very great economic achievements in agriculture and industry. One of the particularly interesting examples of the youth objects is the construction of the Schönfeld airport 1959-1969. The construction of the section of a natural gas pipeline from 1974-1978 is also one of these glorious achievements. The model is one of these operational units and impresses with many small print details, but primarily with the driver in the cab of the combine harvester on behalf of the youth object "Central Harvesting Technology".
