The 40183 H0 Progress E514 combine harvester in a new color scheme is a highly detailed miniature of one of the best-known agricultural vehicles from the GDR era. The original model, built in 1982, was designed as an improved successor to the E512 model. With numerous technical innovations such as a 125 hp engine and extended additional equipment, the E514 marked a technological advance in the field of self-propelled harvesters.
The basic concept of the drive units remained the same as the E512, but the E514 was equipped with a more powerful engine, among other things, in order to meet higher requirements. Cutterbars in several widths - including 4.20 m as a model for this model - as well as accessories such as a maize picker, sunflower cutterbar, straw chopper or on-board harvesting computer made the E514 particularly versatile.
Thanks to the integration of a harvest computer, important operating data such as harvest area, time, speed and losses could be recorded and processed in order to keep efficiency losses below 1% - a real milestone in GDR agricultural technology.
The 1:87 scale model shows the combine harvester with a pivoting harvesting chute and in the typical two-part color scheme. The model bears the distinctive "E 514" lettering at the rear. The precise detailing and true-to-original design make it a highlight of any H0 landscape with an agricultural theme.
This combine harvester is designed for the discerning model builder as a small scale model that is true to the original. It is perfect for agricultural dioramas, historical GDR scenes or as a collector's item in its own right.
