Every large factory has its own fire department and thus guarantees an immediate fire-fighting service on site - the mobile fire extinguisher, so to speak. These plants are usually located just outside the city and by the time a fire department arrives, the first sources of fire can already be brought under control. In the event of an explosion, for example, first aid can be provided immediately and emergency supplies can be maintained until other emergency services arrive.

The German chemical company Röhm, based in Darmstadt, Hesse, is owned by the American private equity fund Advent International (off-market equity or private equity) and has around 3,500 employees worldwide. In addition to 13 German locations, the company also has plants in the USA, China and South Africa. The company was founded in 1907 by the chemist and entrepreneur Otto Röhm and the businessman Otto Haas as Röhm & Haas GmbH, the forerunner of today's Röhm GmbH.
