Are you looking for a transformer tower that fits perfectly into an agricultural or industrial setting? The Busch 8824 TT LPG Transformer Tower is a highly detailed kit modeled after typical transformer stations from the GDR era—ideally placed on the grounds of a former LPG (Agricultural Production Cooperative) or in industrial outlying areas.
The model features a sturdy, gray-plastered tower with a flat roof—sober, functional, and architecturally typical of utility buildings from the second half of the 20th century. The small annex on the ground floor adds character to the building and provides space for equipment or access facilities. Two separately designed doors offer realistic access to the facility.
Recessed ventilation grilles on two sides of the building provide ventilation for the technical rooms—a typical detail of real-life transformer towers. The other two sides are each equipped with four insulators, which serve as connection points for power lines. These finely crafted components ensure a high level of detail and bring the history of electrical engineering to your model railroad in TT scale.
For visual and functional enhancement, we recommend Busch’s Overhead Power Line No. 1750. This allows you to create realistic power connections to neighboring poles, buildings, or lights—for a coherent and believable overall look of your model world.
Whether on a former LPG site, an industrial area, or on the outskirts of town—the Busch 8824 TT transformer tower blends seamlessly into a wide variety of layout sections. Thanks to its simple, technical architecture, it’s also suitable for more modern scenes with a functional character.
With this transformer tower, you’re not only adding a technical structure to your layout, but also a piece of infrastructure history. The finely crafted kit impresses with its realism, functionality, and period accuracy. Now available in the model railway shop—add an authentic detail with character!
