The Busch 9620 H0 Convoy Road is a highly detailed model that recreates the characteristic convoy road of the inner-German border on the GDR side. These paths were paved with so-called concrete “Kolonnenweg” slabs to ensure they were passable for border patrol vehicles. With this set, you can recreate an authentic section of this historic path on your H0 model railroad layout.
The Kolonnenweg was an integral part of the GDR’s border fortifications. It consisted of uniform, highly weather-resistant perforated concrete slabs that enabled border troops to move quickly along the border. These slabs were often overgrown with vegetation and firmly anchored to the ground. In the Death Strip of the Berlin Wall, the Kolonnenweg was paved with asphalt. Today, many of these paths are still preserved and serve as hiking and biking trails along the former border.
The set includes 32 Kolonnenweg slabs, which together form a model track over 50 cm long. Each panel measures 34 x 12 mm, which corresponds to the H0 scale (1:87). With these panels, you can realistically recreate the typical layout of the Kolonnenweg on your layout.
The Kolonnenweg is ideal for depicting border scenarios or military installations on your model railroad layout. Thanks to the realistic reproduction of the concrete slabs, you can authentically depict historical scenes and thus integrate the history of the inner-German border into your model.
The Busch 9620 H0 Kolonnenweg is a high-quality accessory for model railroaders who value historical accuracy and attention to detail. With this set, you can depict an important part of German history on your layout, thereby adding an extra layer of authenticity.
