With the ESU 31036 H0 electric locomotive 151 088 in the eye-catching ocean blue/beige livery, ESU presents one of the most impressive representatives of the DB 151 series. This six-axle freight locomotive not only impresses with its characteristic appearance of Era IV, but also with a technical model concept at the highest level - including universal DC/AC suitability, LokSound 5 and fully digital equipment. It is the ideal choice for model railroaders who place the highest demands on driving characteristics, sound and attention to detail.
The class 151 was developed to meet the requirements of fast and heavy freight trains of the late 1960s. With technology from the class 103 and components from proven multi-system locomotives, a locomotive was created that not only pulled freight trains, but also ran scheduled local and express trains over difficult routes. The 151 088 is an example of this versatility - its condition around 1988 makes it perfect for layouts with scenarios from the late German Federal Railroad era.
The ESU 31036 is equipped with a newly designed metal running gear and bell-type armature motor with flywheel. An integrated LokSound 5 decoder provides an intensive sound experience. The locomotive floor is equipped with a sliding switch that allows reliable switching between two-wire and center conductor operation (AC/DC) - ideal for anyone who wants to operate flexibly between digital systems.
The model has a large number of digitally switchable lighting functions: Start-up lamps, engine room, driver's cab and driver's desk lighting provide a lively operating experience. A large loudspeaker with sound capsule provides powerful, clean sound. Thanks to sensor-controlled curve squealing at low speed, the acoustic reality is not neglected either.
The deep-drawn, multi-colored engine room with a view through is a visual highlight for showcase fans as well as for operating railway enthusiasts. Digitally operated roof pantographs (scissor or single-arm version) as well as spring-loaded buffers and finely worked engravings complete the model. The elegant color scheme in ocean blue/beige makes the locomotive an eye-catcher on any layout.
