With the ESU 31436 H0 diesel locomotive KG230 in the version as locomotive 1 of the Havelländische Eisenbahn (HVLE), ESU offers a precisely manufactured model of a proven small industrial locomotive - interpreted in a modern way in the characteristic orange HVLE livery. The model represents the state around 2014 and is perfectly suited for use on industrial facilities, sidings and in modern shunting scenarios of Era VI. Equipped with the full range of digital functions, this compact shunting locomotive combines historical engineering with the latest model railway technology.

A classic revived - the KG230 in HVLE use

The Deutz KG230 B was developed from 1962 as a reliable works and shunting locomotive. Equipped with 230 hp Deutz diesel engines and robust technology, it was widely used in industry, port logistics and works railroads. HVLE still uses one of these machines today - proof of the high quality and durability of this design. As locomotive 1, it has been repainted in the typical HVLE design and brought up to date technically without denying its origins.

Technically implemented at the highest level

The model has a solid metal frame with detailed stems, openwork steps, free-standing grab rails and numerous separately applied details. A powerful bell-shaped armature motor with flywheel drives both axles, supplemented by a traction tire. The LokSound 5 decoder ensures that the sound is true to the original - either from the air-cooled or water-cooled motor. Thanks to the slide switch on the locomotive floor, it is easy to switch between two-wire and center conductor operation.

Full digital equipment for realistic operation

The sound is only part of the overall experience: a synchronized smoke generator, brake sparks when braking hard and numerous lighting functions such as cab, driver's desk, shunting and chassis lighting bring the locomotive to life. The headlights can be switched off separately. A height-adjustable digital shunting coupler ensures smooth coupling operations with U-couplers - a must for shunting fans.

For modern layouts with an industrial character

With a length of only 92.3 mm over buffers, this locomotive is ideal for compact layouts with short track, industrial sidings or port modules. The bright orange paintwork attracts attention, the sophisticated technical design ensures durability and driving pleasure. Two different aerials and a pipette for filling the smoke generator are included.
