ESU 51801 SwitchPilot Extension, 4 x Relaisausgang Product Details

Description

If required, the SwitchPilot can be supplemented by the SwitchPilot Extension Module: Docked on the side of the SwitchPilot, it provides 4 relay outputs for switching floating loads or for frog polarization.

The SwitchPilot Extension Module only works in conjunction with a SwitchPilot. Plugged in from the side, it is powered directly by the SwitchPilot. It contains a total of 4 double relays (2 x UM), each of which is permanently assigned to a transistor output pair of the SwitchPilot. The position of the respective relay depends directly on the switching state of this output pair.

The relay can be used either to galvanically isolate loads from the rest of the rail circuit (function analogous to k84) or to reverse the polarity of a motorized turnout drive. Since each relay can be loaded with up to 1.5A continuous current, it can be used not only to polarize turnout frogs, but also to supply signal-dependent voltage to block sections or to switch motorized drives such as (water) pumps.

Especially tricky is the possibility to control motorized turnout drives: Of course, the SwitchPilot Extension Module also masters the necessary motor reverse polarity.
