The ESU SwitchPilot 3 Servo (51832) is an advanced 8-channel servo decoder optimized for stationary use on model railway layouts, allowing precise control over up to eight RC servos. Designed to simplify configuration, the SwitchPilot 3 Servo features a 4-line illuminated OLED display and intuitive three-button control, making setup and adjustment straightforward and efficient. Ideal for controlling switches, signals, and other slow-motion applications, this multiprotocol decoder brings reliability and versatility to any layout.
The SwitchPilot 3 Servo is compatible with both Märklin Motorola systems (e.g., 6021, Central Station, Mobile Station) and DCC control systems, making it a flexible choice for various digital setups. Configuration can be performed on both the main track and programming track, and the decoder supports RailCom for reading CVs. The device can be powered either directly from the digital system or via an external DC or AC power source, providing options for different layout requirements.
The SwitchPilot 3 Servo offers two control modes for precise servo operation:
This versatile control allows for a wide range of applications, from simple switch movements to more complex, customizable servo-driven tasks.
To prevent servo “twitching” on power-up, the SwitchPilot 3 Servo includes a power-on pulse suppression feature, which reduces or eliminates unwanted servo movement when power is applied. Additionally, the servo power supply can be temporarily interrupted to prevent unwanted buzzing from certain low-cost servos, enhancing the overall stability and reliability of the system.
The SwitchPilot 3 Servo is capable of standalone operation without a digital central control. Up to 16 push buttons can be connected directly to control servos, making it an excellent option for users who prefer analog control or want to operate servos independently of a digital command station. This flexibility allows for diverse and creative control setups on your layout.
The built-in OLED display provides clear feedback and easy navigation through configuration settings. With POM (Programming on Main) capabilities, adjustments can be made directly on the main track or programming track using a DCC central controller. The display, combined with the intuitive control buttons, ensures efficient setup and operation, even for users with minimal programming experience.
