The LokSound 5 micro decoder from ESU stands out in particular due to its advanced audio technology. It can play back up to 10 sound channels simultaneously and, thanks to 16-bit resolution and a sample rate of 31,250 Hz, achieves a hi-fi sound quality that is unique in the model railroad sector. The decoder's 128 Mbit sound memory offers sufficient capacity to store a large selection of authentic sound profiles for different locomotives and operating modes. This makes it possible to set up to 32 different functions, depending on the control center, and thus adapt the model precisely to individual requirements.
For additional extensions, the decoder can control RC servos or SUSI modules, allowing even more functions to be integrated into the model railway layout. This makes the LokSound 5 micro a particularly versatile choice, offering you a wide range of options for creating realistic operating scenarios.
The ESU LokSound 5 micro supports all four common data formats (DCC, Motorola, Selectrix and M4) and is therefore compatible with modern Märklin command stations as well as with other common digital controllers. A particular highlight is the automatic log-on to Märklin control centers as well as the support of Motorola and Selectrix for seamless integration into existing systems. Thanks to the integrated automatic operation detection, the decoder can be operated on analog DC and AC systems, making it universally applicable.
For a realistic simulation of braking and driving maneuvers, the LokSound 5 micro has three individually adjustable braking modes that further improve locomotive operation. The 2-stage heavy load simulation simulates the behavior of a heavily loaded train and ensures a particularly authentic driving experience. These functions allow you to make driving on your layout particularly realistic and create varied driving scenarios.
