In the 1970s, the German Federal Railroad increasingly used parade cars and special cars to make tourist themed trains more attractive. The class WGye 839 "German Wine Route" express train car was part of such a concept and symbolized enjoyment, regionality and a travel experience on rails.
Fleischmann supplies the wagon in exact printing and coloring with fine engravings and prototypical interior fittings. The design in Era IV reflects the typical appearance of the 1970s. Retrofitting with interior lighting (item no. 944501) is possible - ideal for night or theme trains.
With a length over buffers of 131 mm and NEM 355 couplers with close coupler link, the car can be easily integrated into classic DB express trains of Era IV. It looks particularly harmonious behind locomotives such as the BR 218, BR 110 or BR 103 in special tourist trains or as an eye-catcher in regular train sets.
