This German State Railroad design was equipped with a distinctive "train driver's cab" on the roof, which gave the train driver a clear view of the signals. With four large sliding doors, the car offered plenty of storage space for luggage, express goods and mail - an indispensable component in the express train service of the 1920s and 30s.
