Are you looking for the perfect addition to your N-gauge historic Deutsche Bundesbahn passenger trains? The Fleischmann 6260115 2-Car Set: DB Passenger Train, Era III brings the classic rail transport of the 1950s to your model railroad layout and depicts a typical Krefeld passenger train as it operated in 1954–55.
The set consists of a three-axle C3-class compartment car and a Pw3-class baggage car. These two distinctive cars complement historic passenger train formations and enable an authentic depiction of passenger service during the early Bundesbahn era.
In the first years after World War II, numerous older passenger cars shaped the appearance of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. In particular, the three-axle compartment cars from the Länderbahn and Reichsbahn eras were still regularly seen in passenger service.
Starting in 1954, the Deutsche Bundesbahn began gradually replacing older compartment cars with modernized three-axle converted cars of the 3yg class. Since the new cars were initially available only in limited numbers, many passenger trains consisted of a mix of different car types.
Such varied train compositions were also typical in the Krefeld area. The Fleischmann car set captures this interesting transitional period and allows you to recreate a historic passenger train from the winter of 1954–55.
The three-axle C3-class compartment car is reminiscent of the traditional design of earlier passenger cars. For many decades, such cars were a common sight in German passenger rail service.
The set is complemented by a Pw3-class baggage car. Baggage cars were an important part of many passenger trains at the time and were used to transport luggage and other cargo.
The combination of a passenger car and a baggage car creates a particularly harmonious train formation. Both models feature interior detailing and are an excellent fit for historic stations and routes from Era III.
The Fleischmann cars feature NEM 355 coupler sockets with close-coupling kinematics. This allows them to be integrated into compatible N-gauge passenger trains.
With a total length over the buffers of 160 mm, this two-car set is particularly well-suited for supplementing existing passenger railcars. The two cars can also be used to great effect on smaller model railroad layouts.
The version for the analog DC system is compatible with classic N-gauge layouts and allows for a variety of Deutsche Bundesbahn train formations.
The Fleischmann 6260115 car set can be combined with the BR 62 005 steam locomotive in a particularly prototypical manner. In the early 1950s, all six Class 62 locomotives were stationed at the Krefeld depot and were deployed from there to haul passenger trains on main lines.
The Fleischmann steam locomotives 7160040 (analog version) and 7170040 (with DCC digital decoder) are therefore ideal choices as lead locomotives for these trains.
Another excellent addition is the Fleischmann 6260114 4-Car Passenger Train Set, DB Era III. Together, these allow you to assemble longer and more varied Krefeld passenger trains as they operated in 1954–55.
Bring the classic passenger service of the early Bundesbahn era to your model railroad layout! Get the Fleischmann 6260115 2-Car Set of DB Era III Passenger Trains and complete your historic N-gauge train set with a matching compartment car and baggage car.
