The Series 232 TC steam locomotive of the French State Railways (SNCF) is an outstanding model developed for N-gauge layouts. The 232 TC series is the French designation for the class T 18, which was built by the Vulcan works between 1915 and 1918. After the First World War, the SNCF took over 27 units from the Reichseisenbahnen in Alsace-Lorraine. Thanks to their top speed of 100 km/h, the generous water reservoir and the outstanding running smoothness, these locomotives were particularly suitable for fast suburban traffic.
The 232 TC was stationed in Strasbourg, Haguenau, Sélestat, Colmar and Mulhouse and was used in SNCF scheduled service until 1966. These locomotives are a symbol of the combination of German engineering and French railroad tradition.
