Are you looking for a powerful tank locomotive for Era II branch line operation? The 86 261 steam locomotive from the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft is a real highlight for your N scale layout - with authentic sound, the finest detailing and the latest digital technology for harmonious passenger and freight service.
Between 1928 and 1943, a total of 775 locomotives of this class were delivered to the DRG by almost all German locomotive factories. The 1'D1' tender locomotives with 1,000 HP were designed for lines with tight radii and changing operating profiles - whether branch line, feeder line or light main line operation, the class 86 was a real all-rounder.
With the 86 261, Fleischmann is once again bringing a long-awaited DRG model of this series into the range. The model impresses with numerous details: fine leading and trailing wheels with perforated spokes, a robust die-cast metal chassis and a bell-shaped armature motor for particularly smooth running. The factory-fitted Next18 sound decoder provides realistic steam locomotive sounds, the LED headlights can be switched on both sides depending on the direction of travel.
Four powered axles, a traction tire axle and precise current pick-up ensure reliable running characteristics on the layout. The locomotive is suitable for radii from 192 mm, has an NEM 355 coupling without KK kinematics and is an excellent match for Era II wagons such as Prussian compartment or DRG freight wagons.
The Fleischmann 7170036 BR 86 261 is a must for fans of the Reichsbahn era. Now available in the model railroad store - for authentic branch line operation with a historic sound!
