The Fleischmann 7360025 diesel locomotive M62 263 is a precise replica of the famous Hungarian diesel locomotive of the M62 series, which became known under the nickname 'Szergej'. This model combines historical authenticity and high-quality model making for an impressive experience on your model railway layout.
The M62 class, which was first introduced in Hungary in 1965, marked a technological advance in the railroad system of the Hungarian State Railways (MAV). The locomotives were manufactured in Lugansk (Ukraine) and set new standards for heavy freight transport. A total of 288 machines were delivered, including 15 broad gauge versions. With their introduction, the M62 diesel locomotives pushed many older steam locomotives off the rails.
The model shows the M62 263 in the operating condition of the 1980s, a time when these locomotives formed the backbone of Hungarian freight traffic. The decorative strip on the front and the silencer emphasize the specific features of the Hungarian variant.
The model impresses with a robust die-cast metal chassis and finely crafted details such as the striking decorative strip on the front. The LED lighting with light change in white ensures a realistic driving experience, while the precisely manufactured couplings guarantee safe operation on the layout.
Equipped with an NEM651 interface, the model is ready for subsequent digital conversion. The energy-saving LED lighting system and optimized power consumption guarantee reliable performance. The minimum radius of 192 mm means that it can also be used on more compact layouts.
Regular cleaning of the running gear and current collectors is recommended to ensure the longevity and consistent performance of the model. All moving parts should be lubricated occasionally to ensure optimum operational readiness.
The Fleischmann 7360025 M62 263 diesel locomotive is an indispensable model for collectors and model railroaders who want to authentically recreate the railroad system of Hungary and Era V. Its precise details and high quality of workmanship make it an enrichment for any N-gauge layout.
