Are you looking for a typical German Federal Railroad diesel locomotive for your Era IV layout? The class 212 176-2 in oriental red livery with the old DB logo brings classic branch line operation of the 1980s to your N-gauge in true style - compact, finely detailed and with high prototypical fidelity.
To replace the steam locomotives on branch lines, the Deutsche Bundesbahn developed the V 100 family from the 1950s onwards. Between 1962 and 1965, 380 more powerful machines with 1350 hp were built as the V 100.20 (later the BR 212). From 1987, the majority of the locomotives received the orient red livery - including the 212 176-2, shown here in the typical operating condition of late Era IV.
The locomotive is equipped with the finest engravings, separately attached plug-in parts, grab rails and steps. The driver's cab is clearly visible, the brake shoes are positioned exactly at wheel arch level - all features for the highest model quality on a scale of 1:160. The LED headlights change depending on the direction of travel.
A 3-pole motor with flywheel mass ensures smooth running characteristics. All four axles are driven, one of them with traction tires. The locomotive is equipped with a Next18 interface so that digitization is possible without any problems. Coupling is via the NEM 355 shaft with close coupler link.
The Fleischmann 7360041 BR 212 is the ideal locomotive for branch line operation, local trains or freight trains of the late German Federal Railroad era. Now available in the model railroad store - perfect for realistic Era IV scenarios!
