The Diesellokomotive 112 311-6 is a finely crafted model of the powerful Deutsche Reichsbahn diesel locomotive from Era IV. Originally developed in the former East Germany, this locomotive series began as an upgraded version of the BR 110, retrofitted in 1972 with a 1,200 HP engine for enhanced speed and power. The upgrades, including a modified transmission and other critical components, proved successful in express train service. From 1981 to 1990, approximately 500 units underwent further upgrades at the Raw Stendal facility, equipping them with 883 kW engines (model 12 KVD 18/21 AL-4 and AL-5) and reclassifying them as the BR 112 series. This high-quality model from DR brings historical authenticity and advanced performance to N-scale model railway layouts.
The BR 112 series became a vital part of the Deutsche Reichsbahn fleet, especially in the 1980s, thanks to its increased horsepower and reliability in express train service.
