The Fleischmann 7370036 is the digital sound model of the famous Deutsche Bundesbahn diesel locomotive 218 218-6 - and the first locomotive of this class in the classic ocean blue/beige color scheme. Delivered by Krupp in 1974 and stationed in the Regensburg depot, this locomotive with its striking design was a symbol of Era IV and was in service until 1987. Now you can experience it in N scale - with 16-bit sound, LED lighting and modern digital functions.
With its ocean blue roof and beige-blue paintwork, the 218 218-6 marked a new design standard at DB. The locomotive was used in heavy passenger and freight train service and was mainly seen in southern Germany. Fleischmann has faithfully reproduced this unique prototype in the model - including all the distinctive lines, grab irons and light functions.
Equipped with a Next18 digital decoder, the locomotive offers extensive sound functions in 16-bit quality. The LED headlights (3x white / 2x red) depending on the direction of travel, the separately switchable cab lighting and other light functions can be controlled digitally. Two traction tires and a flywheel mass ensure powerful and smooth running.
The locomotive runs reliably on a minimum radius of 192 mm and is equipped with an NEM 355 coupling shaft including close coupling kinematics. With a running length of 102 mm, it fits perfectly in Era IV train sets - from express trains to local or freight trains.
The Fleischmann 7370036 diesel locomotive 218 218-6 in ocean blue/beige is now available in the model railroad store - a must for digital railroaders and fans of Era IV!
