Class 111 - DR heavy-duty shunting locomotive

At the end of the 1970s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn ordered a total of 37 class 111 locomotives from LEW Henningsdorf. These were originally developed for export. With an output of 1,000 hp, but a maximum speed limited to 65 km/h, they were specially optimized for heavy shunting service. The orange-yellow paint and the railings on the front ends to protect the shunting personnel were typical.

Model as delivered in 1982

The Fleischmann model shows locomotive 111 018-8 in its delivery condition with its home at Rostock depot. The model is finely detailed, with numerous separately applied parts and clean lettering. Thanks to the Next18 interface and built-in digital decoder, the locomotive offers extensive, digitally switchable light and sound functions.
