Rh 1110.5 - ÖBB express train locomotive with electric brakes

The 1110 series was an ÖBB express locomotive that was procured from the mid-1950s. In 1974/75, ten locomotives were equipped with DC resistance brakes and reclassified as the 1110.5 series. Typical features of the converted locomotives were large roof superstructures with fans for the electric brakes and single-arm pantographs. The locomotives were used in many different ways in express and freight train service.

Finely detailed model with digital sound

Fleischmann presents the 1110.529-3 as a new design with numerous separately applied details, filigree single-arm pantographs, fine etched parts (e.g. windscreen wipers) and fully engraved lamp sockets. The driver's cab lighting and the direction-dependent headlights/tail lights can be switched separately in digital mode. A factory-installed Next18 sound decoder provides a realistic operating sound.

Technology and appearance perfectly combined

With four powered axles, two traction tires, flywheel mass and prototypical bogies, the locomotive impresses with reliable running characteristics. It is suitable for radii from 192 mm and is equipped with NEM 355 couplers and close coupler link - for flexible use in model railroad operation.
