Are you looking for a French electric locomotive full of character for international long-distance traffic on your Era IV layout? The BB 7290 from the SNCF in the classic "nez cassé" design was specially designed for use with Talgo trains and impresses with its detailed design, digital sound and numerous functions in N scale.
The locomotives of the BB 7200 series were procured from 1976 for use on the SNCF DC network. The design was created by Paul Arzens and, with its distinctive "broken nose" ("nez cassé"), still characterizes the image of French railroad history today. A total of 237 units were built, including variants such as the BB 7290 with special equipment for Talgo trains.
The BB 7290 locomotive was used to haul Talgo III RD trains capable of changing gauge. These locomotives had red painted buffers for identification - Fleischmann has also implemented this detail exactly in the model. There are also finely engraved body parts, separately applied details and filigree pantographs.
The model is equipped with a factory-fitted Next18 sound decoder. In digital operation, in addition to the realistic soundscape, the headlights and taillights as well as the cab lighting can be individually controlled according to the French model. Two traction tires, flywheel mass and four powered axles ensure excellent running characteristics.
The Fleischmann 7570078 is a must for fans of France and international Era IV train sets. Now available in the model railroad store - perfect for use in front of Talgo trains or international express trains on your N scale layout!
