Fleischmann 7760003 N railcar ICE 2, BR 402, 4-teilig, DB AG, Ep. VI Product Details

Description

Fleischmann 7760003 N-gauge ICE 2 multiple unit, class 402, 4-part, DB AG, era VI: Modern high-speed train in a redesigned look

The Fleischmann 7760003 N-gauge ICE 2 multiple unit train is a detailed replica of the famous German high-speed train in its modernized version with redesign from 2005. This 4-piece set reproduces the ICE 2 in Era VI operating condition and impresses with its state-of-the-art technology and prototypical design.

The prototype: The ICE 2 - flexibility and speed

The ICE 2 is a further development of the original Intercity Express (ICE) and was specially designed for use in half-trains. Each half train consists of a class 402 power car, several middle cars and a control car. If required, two half-trains can be coupled together to form a full set. This configuration enables a maximum speed of 250 km/h and maximum flexibility in operation.

The power cars and driving trailers of the 402 series are equipped with a modified front that facilitates coupling. As part of the redesign in 2005, the trains were given green stripes on the end cars to emphasize their affiliation with Deutsche Bahn AG and its sustainability program. The ICE 2 is still an indispensable part of Deutsche Bahn's long-distance network today.

Era VI: Modern railroad landscape

Era VI (from 2007) is characterized by modern high-speed trains and the increasing internationalization of rail transport. The ICE 2 with its characteristic redesign look represents this era of technical and visual development in German rail transportation.

Technical features and equipment

The model of the ICE 2 is produced in a finely detailed design and reproduces the train in the operating condition of the 2005 redesign. The multiple unit has LED headlights with a red/white light change depending on the direction of travel. Thanks to the Next18 interface, the model is optimally prepared for retrofitting with digital technology.

The interior lighting is prepared and can be retrofitted if required to make the carriages even more realistic. With a length over buffers (LüP) of 625 mm and a minimum radius of 192 mm, the model is ideal for N-gauge layouts. The wagons are equipped with close-coupling kinematics, which enables a narrow wagon spacing and a realistic appearance.

Design and workmanship

The multiple unit impresses with its prototypical color scheme in a redesign look with green stripes on the end cars. The intricate details and precise printing make the ICE 2 a visual highlight. The high-quality workmanship ensures a long service life and a realistic driving experience.

Care and maintenance

The model requires little maintenance, but should be cleaned regularly to remove dust and dirt. The axles and moving parts can be lightly oiled if necessary to ensure smooth operation. The LED lighting and electronics are durable, but should be protected from moisture. It is easy to retrofit a digital decoder via the Next18 interface.

Conclusion and purchase recommendation

The Fleischmann 7760003 N-gauge ICE 2 multiple unit is a high-quality model that authentically depicts the elegance and performance of this famous high-speed train. With its prototypical design, modern technology and the option of digitalization, this multiple unit train is an ideal choice for model railway enthusiasts who want to realistically recreate Era VI.
