The BR 248 Vectron Dual Mode combines two drive technologies in one locomotive: diesel and electric drive. This Hobbytrain model in the CD Cargo design shows how modern logistics can remain flexible even without continuous electrification. The use of contact wire, where available, ensures maximum efficiency - true to the motto: "Where there is contact wire, you should use it." Era VI stands for the latest technology and ultra-modern rail operations - and this is exactly what this model impressively embodies.
The locomotive is designed for the two-wire direct current system (DC) and is built in N scale. It is digitally equipped and offers sound functions ex works. Power is drawn from all axles, which ensures a consistent and safe power supply. Thanks to the Next18 interface (NEM 662), the model remains future-proof and flexibly expandable.
A white/red light change takes place depending on the direction of travel and can be switched off. The integrated sound function ensures a realistic driving experience - from engine sounds to typical train operating noises. The LED technology used ensures low-maintenance and long-lasting lighting.
The Hobbytrain realization takes into account all design differences in detail and authentically reflects the Vectron Dual Mode locomotive from CD Cargo. With a length over buffers of 124.80 mm and a minimum radius of 228 mm, the model can be used on all standard N-gauge layouts. Thanks to the NEM coupling shaft with close coupling kinematics, the model can be easily integrated into train formations.
The scope of delivery includes a digitally equipped N-gauge BR 248 Vectron Dual Mode dual-power locomotive from CD Cargo with sound function, LED light change and Next18 interface.
