Are you looking for a highly detailed British brake car for your TT:120 freight trains? The Hornby TT6091 TT Brake Car 732350, BR, Era III brings the LMS 20-metric-ton brake car to your layout as a brand-new model for 2026 and is ideal as an escort car for classic freight train formations.
The model depicts car No. M732350 in the brown BR bauxite paint scheme. With its faithfully reproduced, plank-sided car body and numerous separately applied parts, the brake car looks particularly authentic and complements British freight trains in a prototypical manner.
The 20-metric-ton brake cars based on the LMS prototype were built both in early LMS versions and during the BR era in the 1950s. This car shows a later BR version with an “M” prefix in the car number.
Thanks to the kinematic NEM couplers, the model is well-suited for layout operation. The specified minimum radius is the second radius, allowing the brake car to be seamlessly integrated into TT:120 freight trains.
Under British Railways, these 20-metric-ton brake cars, based on the LMS design, were operated in a plain brown paint scheme. The car number, weight, and other markings were painted in white on the side walls.
With a length of 24 feet and a wheelbase of 16 feet, the design was so successful that BR continued production. This model is one of the later versions, of which a total of 1,320 were built between 1949 and 1950.
Get the Hornby TT6091 TT Brake Car 732350, BR, Era III, and expand your TT:120 layout with a distinctive British freight train escort car featuring a high level of detail.
