With the Jägerndorfer electric locomotive E33, you can bring a piece of railroad history from the 1920s to your model railroad layout in N scale. This locomotive was a milestone in early electrification in Austria and Germany and is a must for all fans of Era II.
The electric locomotive impresses with its compact and characteristic design with fine detailing. The elegant DRG color scheme is authentically implemented. Roof cables, insulators and pantographs are delicately reproduced and perfectly set the scene for the historical prototype. The high-quality workmanship and the striking locomotive body make the E33 a real eye-catcher.
The model is equipped with an LED front light that lights up white when the direction of travel changes. Thanks to the Next18 interface, digitization is possible without any problems. The locomotive has a modern running gear with good current consumption via the axles - ideal for reliable analog operation and prepared for digital retrofitting.
The original BBÖ 1029 series was procured between 1923 and 1925 for fast passenger service. The machines with axle arrangement 1'C1' were the first electric locomotives on the newly electrified Salzkammergutbahn. After Austria's annexation to Germany, the locomotives were incorporated into the DRG scheme as the E33 series. After the Second World War, many of the locomotives returned to Austria. Their area of operation extended from Tyrol via Salzburg to Vorarlberg - as well as in southern Germany.
The locomotive is fully compatible with N-gauge track systems in 2L direct current format. It is ideal for Era II layouts with express and passenger trains. The existing Next18 interface makes digital expansion easy to implement.
This model is aimed at historical model railroaders and collectors with a focus on Era II. The E33 combines technical-historical relevance with high-quality model realization and is particularly suitable for operation on classic main and branch lines of the interwar period.
