This set represents a weed control train of the German State Railroad, as it was used in the GDR for vegetation control in the track area. Herbicides were applied along the track with special wagons to keep the ballast bed and the tracks free of vegetation. Such operations were an integral part of regular track maintenance and ensure authentic operations on your model railroad away from regular freight traffic.
