The Kres 1382D VT 137 "Stettin" is a 2-part railcar that was used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) in Era II. This model is produced in TT gauge and impresses with its faithful reproduction and fine details. With a length over buffers of 339 mm and integrated interior lighting, the model is a real eye-catcher on any TT layout. The model is operated digitally (without sound) and offers numerous functions that make operation on the model railroad realistic and varied. It is perfect for model railroaders who want to collect historical vehicles from Era II and integrate them into their layout.
At the beginning of the 1940s, the DRG procured a total of 16 two-car multiple units for suburban traffic in the port city of Stettin. These trains were manufactured by WUMAG in Görlitz and were given the road numbers VT 137 331 to 376. They were designed for suburban services, but were no longer used due to the start of the war before the Second World War. Instead, the trains were kept in reserve for the Wehrmacht at stations of the RBD Stettin.
After the end of the war, nine of these railcars remained with the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR), four with the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) and one initially with the Czechoslovakian State Railways (CSD). DB put three of the vehicles back into service and renamed them VT45s at the end of the 1940s. These vehicles were finally taken out of service at the end of the 1960s. Five railcars (VT 137 329, 331, 367, 368 and 371) were recommissioned by the DR. They were used in Berlin, later in Halle and Dresden-Pieschen, before the last remaining vehicles were converted into sidecars.
The Kres 1382D model of the VT 137 329a/b is digitally equipped and offers numerous functions that make operation on the model railway layout authentic. A particular highlight is the head and tail light, which is based on the prototype and ensures realistic lighting. The integrated interior lighting creates an atmospheric ambience, especially when running at night.
The model is equipped with a 6-pin digital interface in accordance with NEM 651, which allows easy conversion to other digital control systems. It is a direct current model that is ideal for TT layouts. The minimum radius for use is 286 mm, so that the model can also be used on smaller layouts without any problems.
The Kres model of the VT 137 impresses with its fine printing and detailed replica of the original.
